Disabled Veterans

This program greatly lowers the market value to homestead property that certain disabled veterans own.

If the veteran is permanently and totally disabled, the veteran owner should qualify for up to $300,000 reduction. If the owner is 70% or more disabled, they may receive up to a $150,000 reduction in market value.

The Veteran must apply with the Itasca County Assessor's office and provide documentation from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Disabled Veteran Homestead Application - Total Disability (PDF), Disabled Veteran Homestead Application - 70 Percent Disability (PDF) and other forms can be found on the Property Application & Verification Forms page.
